Jade - Crassula ovata

Jades are great Bonsai trees because they are virtually care free - perfect for beginners and old pros alike.  Advanced students of bonsai find them excellent material because they adapt to any style and develop relatively quickly.  A Jade can be grown inside or out and is a great choice for home or office.

Also called "Elephant Plant" it can withstand long periods without water.  Technically a succulent, it stores water in its trunk, branches and leaves, and will tolerate long periods without water.  This Bonsai looks great right now and will continue to develop for years to come.

Comes in a beautiful ceramic Bonsai pot, drip tray included but not shown, this Bonsai tree is 11 inches tall.  It's a bit difficult to get a sense of the actual size of this Bonsai tree from the picture, but if you look closely you will see that we have placed a pecan on the surface of the gravel as a size reference.

Can be grown indoors or outdoors but doesn't like the cold weather and should be moved inside when the temperature is 50 or below.

We think this is "one of the most under used and under appreciated Bonsai trees."
